Vear, Buchanan & myself were outnumbered and in danger.

crowd probably one or two shots. The firing may have
extended over five minutes the whole lot.

before going to the hudy. I saw the body there. I did not draw P.0. Wright's attention to it. I cannot say if P.0.

On the 2nd November
about 12.30 p.m. I was in the International Hotel with P.08.
Wright and Buchanan. I was summoned by Sergeant Cooper to
assist the police and I went. I assisted the police from
12.30 to about 1.30 when I came back to the Queen's Road. In the Queen's Road we drew up opposite the Land We Live In. Stones, bottle and bricks were thrown. Sergeant Cooper gave
me a stick. I got three Indian Police constables as rein- Sergeant Cooper went for more reinforcements. The mob then charged us. Stones and bricks came. I was hit
